These Haloumi and Onion Canapes are incredibly easy to make and will be the star of any gathering.

Ingredients:

  • Haloumi cheese
  • Red onions
  • Silver Tongue Foods Cowboy Kisses
  • Silver Tongue Foods Sourdough Crackers
  • 1/2 cup of dill
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). While the oven is heating, prepare the onions by cutting them into quarters.

  2. Drizzle the red onion quarters with olive oil, ensuring they are well coated. Place them in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the onions are cooked but not browned.

  3. After 15 minutes, add a block of haloumi cheese to the baking tray alongside the onions. Allow both the onions and haloumi to bake together for the remaining 15 minutes.

  4. While the onions and haloumi are baking, it's time to prepare the flavorful dill and Cowboy Kisses mix. Chop up the dill and place it in a bowl. Add the Silver Tongue Foods Cowboy Kisses and drizzle with olive oil. For an extra kick, include a teaspoon of Cowboy Kisses juice. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste preference.

  5. Once the onions are cooked to perfection, remove them from the oven. Break the Silver Tongue Foods Sourdough Crackers into quarters and place an onion quarter on each cracker.

  6. Next, carefully pull apart the haloumi cheese and place a generous portion on top of the onions.

  7. Finally, spoon the dill and Cowboy Kisses mix over the haloumi-topped onions, ensuring each bite is garnished with the delightful flavours.

  8. Serve your Haloumi and Onion Bites with Cowboy Kisses on a platter.

Bon appétit!
